According to AAA predictions, a record-setting 112.5 million Americans willtravelduring the December holiday season (which is defined as Thursday, December 20, through Sunday, January 6 by the airlines.) This is up 4.4% from last year.However, how your airport experience goes can vary depending on which airport you fly in and out of as some are way more stressful than others.Researchers atInsureMyTrip did the hard work and found out which airports in the U.S. may give you a mental breakdown the fastest. Here is what they foundLaGuardia Airport, New YorkNorfolk International, VirginiaCharleston AFB/International, South CarolinaGreater Rochester International, New YorkPhiladelphia International, PennsylvaniaNewark Liberty International, New JerseyTheodore Francis Green State, Rhode IslandRonal d Reagan Washington National, Washington, DCBuffalo Niagara International, New YorkJohn F. Kennedy International, New YorkLaGuardia taking the top slot is not terribly surprising (ask any New Yorker who regularly flies in and out of there and they will write you a short novel on all the things wrong with that airport.)LGA reports the highest percentage of canceled flights (4.9%) so far this year, which doesnt help.If you are traveling this holiday season keep in mind that flights scheduled for departure between4-6 pmare more susceptible to delays and cancellations. If a flight is canceled, most airlines will rebook travelers on the next available flight at no additional charge.
